The December 16th, 2005, 11.00 hrs at the premises of the TIFF 05, during a press conference for the media, artists, diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana were announced the films that will officially compete in the third edition of Tirana Film Festival.
 
The director of the festival, Ilir Butka announced 110 films selected for this year’s competition, among which 69 fiction, 16 animation, 13 experimental and 12 documentaries. 12 movies directed by Albanian authors will compete in the international selection as well.
For the first time, in this edition is established a section exclusively dedicated to the Albanian films from all over the world.
The representative of EDS Foundation and the programmer of the Festival to, Genc Permeti, introduced for the media the special program of the third edition and the special guests participating in the event among which the great masters of the cinema such as Ken Loach, Nick Broomfield, Goran Paskaljevic.
The Festival organizers introduced the International jury of this year, composed by David D’Arcy, film critic, from USA, Mathias Groll, film critic, Germany, Carl Henric Svenstedt, director, Sweden, Jesper Andersen, Danish Film Institute, Denmark. In the end of the press event, the Tirana International Film Festival Director addressed a special thanks to the sponsors, partners and the staff that made possible this year’s Festival organization.
